In the Spotlight with Jokers Girl THost Resident

The Jokers Playhouse; Thank you for taking the time to answer a few questions for us today Tiff.  Lets start off with, how did you get your start in Hosting/Dancing? What was your first job?

THost Resident;  I was maybe a week old in SL when I somehow came across Rez Nightclub. I loved the idea of clubs in general from that point on. So many people interacting and just having a good time. Granted I hadn't even been to the other Ambro clubs let alone any other at that point, so in this case Rez was my first and only love as far as clubs went. Then I got to shopping, and we all know that's a downward spiral. Freebies can only get ya so far, so I applied to be a dancer there the day I came to be three weeks old (which was a requirement at that time). I've been doing it ever since and in 4 clubs since then for a year of SL hosting and dancing. I'm usually shy and closed off, but for some reason I can open up more while dancing. Especially when working with my amazing SL family. Then things really start to get interesting, and its a good time for everyone. Its all about having fun. Now all that aside... I also really need the $L to fuel my shopping and blogging addiction... Its a problem. If there's an anonymous group anyone knows of please hit me up! Ha-ha

The Jokers Playhouse; Names such as Tom Nook...The Able Sisters...Mr. Ressetti are probably not known to everyone out there. That said, word is you are an Animal Crossing fan, so tell us, what’s the big deal? And who is your favorite villager?

THost Resident; Oh my goodness. I somehow should've expected a question like this! Umm I don't know how to explain the Animal Crossing addiction. I love gaming mostly on my Xbox, but it’s also fun to play kind of immature seeming games like what Nintendo is more known for. It sounds so silly to play a real time game where you interact with animals, and do odd jobs to make currency called Bells. But it sucks you in. As a matter of fact my DS is on sleep mode right now with this game so I can do this interview. And as far as favorite villagers go I favored Kitty till she moved this week (very sad), because she addressed me as Your Highness. And I like Isabelle. If she were an average villager, she would be my fave.

The Jokers Playhouse; you have now officially worked with both, and there has always been a verbal war of the words between them. (In good fun mind you) Settle the debate...DJ Balance or DJ VipeR? And please remember who the boss is?

THost Resident; Wow. You are really trying to get me in trouble with this one huh? Lol Balance is one of my best friends. We disagree on music quite a bit, but he does play some tunes that blow my mind, and I can't help but dance in my chair. He's a pretty great DJ. He also supplies my AudioSurf music. So if I diss him too much I'm likely to lose my source! On the other hand, Viper is also an awesome DJ. He plays some tried and true favorites of mine, and knows how to work a crowd. It’s always a good time with either, so I plead the fifth. I'm a woman and reserve the right to be indecisive.

The Jokers Playhouse; If you had one piece of advice for up and coming Jokers Girls, what would it be?

THost Resident; Have fun. If you're not having fun, neither are the club goers. Get involved. For the love of Linden, don't just gesturebate. That alone sets Joker's above some other clubs. People want to interact with people, not get pretyped messages and half your attention. Every dancer has their nights where their heart just isn't into it, or their mind is elsewhere, but you owe it the crowd (no matter how big or small) to at least try. What you do, say, and sometimes even wear reflects on the club and other members of staff or management. Sometimes it’s good to keep that in mind.

In the Spotlight with Jokers Girl Miss Jaden

- Jaden, can you tell us how you got your start in Dancing/Hosting?

Miss Jaden; how I got my start in Dancing/Hosting was actually playing another game, Red Light Center. I worked for a couple DJs on there as their host. I’ve always been the type of person in RL and SL that loves meeting new people. I also love to make people laugh and even at times I enjoy making things a little awkward Lol. Talking to people just comes naturally and entertaining as well. Hosting and Dancing is just something I enjoy doing, especially when you have an awesome crowd to talk to.

- A lot of women in Second Life do fashion blogs. You have been doing one for quite some time. Tell us about it...What got you started? What do you enjoy about it? What’s the name of it and how do we find it?

Miss Jaden; I started my Fashion Blog back in December 2012. It was just something I had always wanted to do just for fun but never got around to doing it until then. In RL I have a love for everything beauty & fashion related, so why not bring that over to Second Life? Also it's a great way to pass the time when in world with nothing to do. It keeps me busy and I don’t get lonely when all my friends have other stuff going on. It actually started out because I was bored and I just did it from time to time. Now I at least blog maybe once a day or once every other day and love absolutely everything about it. I get to sit around, play dress up, and take pictures of myself. What girl doesn’t like doing those things? Lol. Until people start a fashion blog they have NO earthly idea how much hard work and time goes into them. It seems easy, but really it’s not as simple as it seems.
The name of my blog is *Glamourazzi Bomb.Shell* to find my blog you can visit one of the three links below:

- If you could offer any advice to new Jokers Girls what would it be?

Miss Jaden; The advice I would give new Jokers Girls would be to simply have fun. If you aren’t having fun at your job you will never be able to entertain a group of people. Make sure you interact and jump in their convos. Get to know new people and develop a friendship with them. That way when they come back into the club they will know you and you will recognize them and it will be so much easier to keep them entertained and keep a conversation going. Another word of advice would be to remember you are a face of the club you are working at. What you do and say reflect on the club. Whether you think it will or not, but one thing you think might not be offensive to you could be to others and could lead for them not to come back which hurts you and the club. So always respect everyone who steps foot on that sim and they will respect you back.

- What’s your fondest memory of working in SL?

Miss Jaden; I have so many fond memories working in Second Life, but the one that sticks out the most is meeting my best friend, Tiff AKA "Thost." She’s one of the sweetest most generous girls I’ve ever been able to meet in Second Life. She’s the type that always has my back even when she knows I’m in the wrong Lol. I love that girl to the moon and back and she means the world to me. I know I can always count on her to be there when I need her. I’m very blessed to have met someone like her in this crazy world we call Second Life. So yes... meeting her is def one of my fondest most treasured memories. She’s actually the reason I’m a dancer today because I wanted to hang out with her more. Ha-ha. Corny I know... but it’s so true.

- What is a dream of yours?

Miss Jaden; I asked if this question was SL or RL related. I was told which ever I wanted it to be. I think I'll take the RL route on this one. A dream of mine is to open a huge no kill animal shelter in my home town. Sad, but we don’t have one. After a while the animals if they aren’t adopted are put down. I’m a huge animal lover and sometimes I think I care more about animals than people. I would love to have enough money to build a big enough shelter to take in all stray animals and hurt animals. I would nurse them back to health and find homes for them. No matter how long it took I would just wait it out until I found them the perfect home. I know this dream is very farfetched as it would cost lots of money in food and supplies for them, but it’s really what I wish I could do.

In the Spotlight With Libby Belle

Libby Belle is the original Jokers Girl. When Viper was putting the club together initially he went to Libby and asked her to become the host manager for what he would dub “The Jokers Girls”. Libby agreed and the club was off and running. We grabbed Libby in between shifts at the Jokers Playhouse and shopping for hair… Lets take a quick peek inside.

The Jokers Playhouse Blog: When did you start working in SL Clubs and tell us what was the first club your worked at?

Libby Belle: I’ve been working in SL Clubs over 3 years. I started out working on my first account. Although, I don’t remember the name of the first place I ever worked at, I've hosted at clubs such as Southern Shores, Eclipse, Gossip, Sk8ed and of course, The Joker's Playhouse.

The Jokers Playhouse Blog: As the first Jokers Girl Manager what would be your advice to new or potential Jokers Girls / Jesters?

Libby Belle: My advice to anyone wanting to become a host is to interact with the crowd. People will more likely return to a club if people talk to them. If all a host does is use gestures, that will quickly kill the mood and cause people to leave. Word of mouth is important in this industry.

The Jokers Playhouse Blog: Ok, like any woman in SL we know you love to shop. So some fashion advice for the ladies? Where is your “go to” store for Women’s hair?

Libby Belle: My go to store for Women's Hair would have to be Truth, Exile and Magika.

We want to thank Libby for taking time of out her busy schedule to answer these questions for us. Be sure to come out to The Jokers Playhouse and see Libby in action. She works Thursdays 6p-8p and Fridays 4p-6p SLT.

In the Spotlight With Dj Malachi

So here at The Jokers Playhouse Blog we feel the need to take a moment and showcase out talent. Today we take a look at one of the most innovative DJs in Second Life. His “radio show” style sets have become infamous within SL Club lure and are still talked about to this day. DJ Malachi is our first featured spotlight staff member. We grabbed the Jokers Playhouse DJ and asked him a couple questions.

Jokers Playhouse Blog: Mal, thank you for taking the time out to answer these questions…Starting out, what would you say is your fondest memory of DJing in Secondlife?

DJ Malachi: I truly have so many fond memories that I am not sure I would be able to pick just one. Djing has been a great outlet for me and has lead me to so many of the friends I have. It is just a great outlet to express your self and make people laugh.

Jokers Playhouse Blog: You definitely do that for sure. So you obviously have a unique style with the “radio show” feel to your sets. It truly is an original set you do. What made you start it?

DJ Malachi: It has really just evolved as time has passed. For me, getting able to interact with the crowd is my sole purpose. Music allows you to express emotions and inspire so many different feelings. I have just found that laughter is the best medicine and being able to laugh at your self is just another reason for me to get on air week to week. If it ever becomes too routine, it is time to kick it up a notch.

Jokers Playhouse Blog: Well, no one can say your sets are “routine” by any means, ok last question. If you had one piece of advice for a new DJ, what would it be?

DJ Malachi: My advice would be to definitely be your self. Figure out what makes you different. Being a DJ is to be an entertainer. Be positive and use your talent to make the SL world a place of fun and friends.

We want to thank DJ Malachi for taking a few minutes out of his day to answer these questions for us. If you want to know more about DJ Malachi or where you can get more information about him please check out his facebook page www.facebook.com/sldj.mal To catch DJ Malachi LIVE at the Jokers Playhouse be sure to come down Wednesdays at 6-8 pm SLT.
